Peter didn't know where he was except he knew it looked like Earth still. It was all just very different. Everything seemed run-down and old and the people here seemed down-trodden. He had gotten up on top of a building to get a better look of the city, but it hadn't been very helpful and so he swung back down to the ground.
"Nice trick."
Peter spun around. How come he hadn't noticed
the man? He was tall and slim and dressed in a suit. He looked mean. "Uh, what trick?"
The man put his hands casually in his pockets and smiled, but it wasn't a nice smile. "How about you come along with me and we can discuss things."
Peter's spidey-sense started to tingle. This was bad.
"Leave him alone, White."~*~*~
Alec had been on a run for Normal when he swore to God he say Peter Parker. What had seemed like vague memories and dreams came flooding back to him about the Inn and he turned down the alley in time to see Ames White cornering the teenage boy. A frown set deep into Alec's expression.
"Leave him alone, White."
He saw Ames turn his head a little and Peter's head swivel with a look of surprise, but recognition. How Peter ended up in his world was beyond Alec, but he knew the kid was in trouble. Where Ames was, a tactical team wasn't far behind. They were screwed if it was made up of all his breeding cult friends.
"Nice to see you X5 494." Ames didn't seem to tense at all with Alec's presence. "You didn't happen to bring your friends, did you?"
Alec's eyes narrowed a little. Everyone was so damned obsessed with Max. He'd be damned if anyone but Max decided her fate. "Let the kid go. He's not from Manticore."
Ames shrugged. "Maybe not, but I saw what he can do."
Alec's eyes locked onto Peter's with an expression of 'we need to leave,
now' and just as that happened, a black van pulled in at the other end of the alleyway where Peter's back was. A moment later and another, identical van pulled up closing off where Alec was standing.
Ames looked pleased. "No where to run, X5 494. Just come peacefully and I'll make sure they kill you before they dissect you."
"Eat me, White."
In a blur of movement, Alec walked on the side of the wall and went to kick Ames' in the face. Ames only took a step back as the kick landed hard and broke his nose. He didn't even seem to flinch at the pain. Ames managed to evade the next two punches and then he went of the offensive and suddenly Alec was throw with great strength into one of the brick walls next to Peter. Peter shot his web at Ames' hands which landed, but then his eyes widened as Ames pushed against the webbing and after a moment tore free of it.
People were emerging from the vans.
"Kid... time to go." Alec stood up with a slight groan. He stood in front of Peter, hands up, ready for more of a fight. "Get out of here."
"Not without you."
Suddenly Alec felt Peter's arm around his waist and then being sprung into the air. They landed less gracefully than either of them would like and Alec rolled. They were on the roof, but no where near in the clear. "Come on, follow me." And off they ran, jumping over roofs and eventually making it back to the ground where they weaved in and out of the city.

Alec opened a rusted metal door, ushered Peter inside, and then closed it and locked it. He turned to Peter with an intense sort of anger and pushed his index finger against the boy's chest. "Next time you just run, got it? I can take care of myself."
Peter's expression instantly changed to shock and frustration. He held up his hands. "You were
thrown into a wall like a rag doll! You didn't have that at all!"
Alec's eyes narrowed. "It doesn't matter.
You need to take care of yourself. Trying to take me with you could have killed us both."
Alec would never be able to forgive himself if he was the one to get Peter killed, especially if this was his first day in his world. Why
was he in this world?
"I'm not going to run away and leave you behind." Peter stood his ground stubbornly.
Alec held Peter's glare for a moment, then exhaled with annoyance, threw up his hands up in the air as if to say
fine!"Joshua!"
Peter looked confused as Alec walked passed him and further into the room. They were in what looked like it could be an old heritage house, but it hadn't been up-kept in a long time. It looked lived in, just worn down, like the rest of the city.
Out from one of the other rooms a face poked around the corner. A
not-entirely-human face with long hair. The face became a full person as they stepped into the doorway to what looked like was the kitchen.
"Joshua, this is Peter. Peter, this is Joshua." Alec went to a side table and picked up a half-drank bottle of rum. "Peter's going to be staying here with us Joshua, at least for a while. He's trustworthy." As he drank some of the alcohol, Alec eyed the two staring at each other. "You'll both probably get along really well." They were both excitable, to say the least.
~*~*~
It had been over a week since Peter arrived in his world and Alec had no answers on how to get him back to his own reality or even back to the Inn. What had seemed impossible at the Inn now seemed even less likely in the 'real world'.
Alec sat in the darkened living room, driving on some tequila he had managed to buy off some guy on the black market. It was 3 am. He should be asleep. Peter should be too, but he had no idea where the kid was.
He heard the door slowly open. Peter was trying to be sneaky. Alec could see in the dark just fine and watched as Peter tried to stealth in, in his ridiculous homemade Spider-Man costume. It was only when Peter closed the door that he turned on the light and made the boy jump.
"Uh, hey. I was just -" Peter pulled off his 'mask' and tried to think of a good excuse.
Alec's expression remained grim as he stood up and walked over to Peter. His gaze narrowed as he closed the distance. Alec could see that Peter had the makings of a black eye and a cut on his lip. "I told you to stop going out like that."
Peter looked defiant though his voice was borderline whiny. "There's a lot of people here who need my help.'
"No. No they don't. This is not a world that has superheroes in it, Peter. This is a place that
eats superheroes. You're going to get caught - They. are. going. to. kill. you."
"You don't know that -"
"Yes. Yes I do. This is my world. I know the bad in it. Goddammit Peter, you need to be more careful."
Peter frowned. "I can't just stand by and watch good people get hurt."
"And what about
you? If you die -"
Peter's voice raised in whiny anger as he lifted his hands up. "Why do you even care? The past week you've basically only complained about me being here. You've made it pretty clear I'm basically this big burden. You won't take me outside. You won't let me -"
To both of their surprise, Alec silenced Peter by pressing his mouth against the other's in a sudden heated kiss. Hands on Peter's shoulders, Alec kissed Peter before he even realized what he was doing and then pulled back suddenly with a look of surprise. His eyes scanned Peter's wide-eyed expression, but realized Peter's hand had somehow gripped the front of his t-shirt and he hadn't let go.
Peter opened his mouth to say something, but Alec leaned back in for another hot, hard, forceful kiss that pulled a sudden groan from Peter's throat. The sound Peter made seemed to encourage Alec's bravery and he pushed the other back until they both slammed against the wall of the room. With his body pressed up against Peter's, he could feel Peter's arousal harden against his leg as his tongue hungrily explored Peter's mouth.
Alec rocked his hips against Peter, his own arousal pressing and rubbing against Peter's through layers of fabric. Peter's hands found their way to the back of Alec's neck and into his hair. Alec continued to kiss Peter while one of his hands moved down to find the button on Peter's jeans.
There was no going back now.
